Sant Hirdaram Girls College, Bhopal

Shaheed Hemu Kalani Educational Society, Bhopal is a prestigious registered Society working in the field of education for last 14 years. Society established Sant Hirdaram Girls College, Bhopal in 2006 as a private, un-aided, self financed multi faculty college for girls imparting Higher Education both at under graduate an d post graduate level in faculty of Science, Commerce & Education. Within a short span of 4 years the college has made steady progress in terms of student strength and academic excellence.

The college is located in sub urban area of Bhopal erstwhile known as Bairagarh and now rename as Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Bhopal. The campus is spread over 3 Acres of land with beautiful building complexes and well maintained garden. There are four major building blocks catering to specific needs of the college and providing facilities to various faculties namely the Science, Commerce & Education. The fourth block is the Administrative block.

The Faculty of Education is located in the Professional Wing exclusively earmarked for running B.Ed. & M.Ed. Programmes.

Classrooms


There are 24 spacious classrooms each with a seating capacity ranging between 40 - 80 and 9 tutorial rooms. Classrooms are well ventilated with profuse natural light available through-out the day. Each classroom is well furnished with black board, white board and facilities for use of Audio-Visual Teaching Aids.

Reprographic Facility in the Library
A good quality digital photocopy machine is installed in the library to provide reprographic facility to students and teachers on the campus. Students and teachers can avail this facility on payment of Rs. 1 per page.

Users Education, (Library Orientation Programme)
The library organizes special orientation programmes for the newly admitted students every year to apprise them about the available library facilities and to motivate them to use library as a real academic support system in the teaching learning process. Special care is taken to train the students in making good use of automated library facility for searching of books and other relevant digital material. The library also provides one-on-one training to users desiring to learn more about any service or how to use a particular database or resources.

Laboratories
Psychology Lab
Psychology laboratory with more than 150 tests batteries and equipment related to intelligence, personality, achievement, creativity, aptitude and many other social and personal traits authored by renowned foreign and Indian psychologist is the unique feature of Faculty of Education.

Education Technology Lab
Education Technology Laboratory with OHP’s, Television, DVD, Slide Projectors LCD, DLP Computers and Public address System and a large number of CD’s provides good teaching learning facility.

Language lab
Language Lab with a capacity of a batch of 20 learners at a time is fully functional to learn communication skills in various languages such as English, Hindi, French etc.


Sports Facilities


The College has well equipped sports facilities for indoor games such as Chess, Carom & Table-Tennis. The sports grounds of adjacent schools run by the Society are available as outdoor games facility for college students also.


Hostel
 

With a view to spread the fragrance of quality education of the college to far flung areas, full fledged hostels of the college accommodate outstation girl students. Initially, the capacity of the Hostel for 100 students having two occupants in each room. It will be an asset to the college and will enhance jurisdiction of the college.


Transport Facility


The Society has a large fleet of owned buses which are plied from all major parts of the city for students. The detials of routes and timings can be had from the college separately.
